Even though a lot of people will not admit it, several of the “life lessons” you outlined above were given to us by parents, grandparents,mentors, and teachers when we were younger…but, we didn’t want to listen or we just plain didn’t “get it”.

That’s why a lot of folks have to “repeat a grade” (we did that back in our generation)…they didn’t learn it the first time that it was presented, so that had to do it over until they got it right. (Knew a kid that spent 3 years in the third grade)

My life lessons?

Tell the people in your life (especially your kids) that you love them because life is really, really short.

There is only one reason to keep a list. I love to ask this question to people who keep a list…

“WHY DO YOU KEEP A LIST?” …

Most say so they want forget what needs to be done. Others say so you can see what needs to be done or you can review at the end of the day what you have accomplished. All of the above are good answers to the question of why you keep a list, but all are incorrect.

The correct answer to why you keep a list is…

SO YOU CAN FORGET ABOUT IT. Think about it, once you write it down on your list, it is now off of your mind and you can move forward with what needs to be done now. You can forget about the other things on the list but know you will get to them in time and order later. You will be amazed at how much better you will sleep at night once you have a list and don’t have to worry about all the little details of the next day. It’s on the list, it will get accomplished so YOU CAN FORGET ABOUT IT and get a good nights sleep!!!

Your underlining nice guys _do_ finish last is wrong. From Wall St. Bankers to home town lenders, to Realtors / Brokers turning there heads the other way, is why the country is where it is today. Oh, there is plenty more blame in other areas I didn’t mention, but I refuse to follow the crowd going over the cliff. Maybe not a nice guy, but one that sleeps good at night with a conscience is sweet. And a referral base to boot
