Yesterday, I while I was uploading a few new marketing videos, I started going through the "In-box" on my desk. Uploading videos takes forever and I’m always afraid to do something else on my computer because I’ll mess up the loading process and have to start over. I absolutely hate doing things twice. I’d rather slow down and get it right the first time!
In my hard copy "in-box", I found something that I want to share with you today. It was written by Dean Jackson and it was titled – "I Know I’m Being Successful When…"
Here it is:
1. I can wake up every day and ask – "What would I like to do today?"
2. My passive revenue exceeds my lifestyle needs.
3. I can live anywhere in the world I choose.
4. I’m working on projects that excite me and allow me to do my best work.
5. I can disappear for several months with no affect on my income.
6. There are no whiny people in my life.
7. I wear my watch for curiosity only.
8. I have no time obligations or deadlines.
9. I wear whatever I want all the time.
10. I can quit anytime.
Is that powerful, or what? Go back through the list and check off the ones that are true for you. How many were you able to mark? I’m guessing that you weren’t able to check off more than 3. How do I know? Because I used to be in your shoes.
As a traditional agent, you don’t have very much control over your schedule. In addition, selling homes for a commission is not "passive." You can’t live anywhere in the world and you also can’t disappear for several months without any impact on your income.
If you agree with Dean Jackson’s list for success, what are you doing to change your situation? Do you believe that its impossible to achieve all 10 items on his list? I can tell you from experience that its definitely not impossible. However, you have to think differently in order to make progress on success.
